Neymar Jr’s signature street five-a-side global tournament is coming to Edmonton, and FC Edmonton wants you to enter your team and compete on Sunday, May 14 at 8:00 a.m. at Kinsmen Field for a chance at earning a trip to Vancouver for the Canadian National Finals and Brazil for the Grand Final!

FC Edmonton is partnering with Red Bull in 2017 to bring the Neymar 5 Tournament to Edmonton as one of four qualifiers in Canada. In its first year, Neymar Jr’s Five had over 65,000 players take part from 47 countries, but the tournament is now bigger and better than ever with matches taking place in more than 50 countries, spread over 6 continents.

The 5v5 tournament is open to men and women aged 16-25, with two members of each team allowed to be over the age of 25. However, each 10-minute match features a unique twist. When one team scores, the opposition loses a player. It’s inspired by the street football Neymar Jr himself grew up playing. At the end of the day, the winning team will earn a trip to play at the Canadian National Finals in Vancouver, with the winner of that tournament moving on to the Grand Final in Brazil.
