FC Edmonton signs Duran Lee for 2020 CPL Season

FC Edmonton is delighted to announce the signing of left-back Duran Lee for the 2020 Canadian Premier League (CPL) season.

Lee joins the club following a season with HFX Wanderers. The 24-year-old defender impressed playing against HFX for Vaughan Azzurri in the Canadian Championship. He signed his first professional contract for the Wanderers shortly after the two-legged series and went on to make a total of eight appearances for the Wanderers.

“We have targeted a few areas to address this offseason with a left-footed defender being a priority,” FC Edmonton General Manager and Head Coach Jeff Paulus said. “We thought that Duran was very good for Halifax and believe that he is the ball playing defender that we were looking for. He will bring a new dimension to the team and provide the balance that we require in order to build out effectively.”

Lee is originally from the Ontario region and he was part of the Toronto FC academy. He then went on to play for Sigma FC where he featured 21 times. After two years with Sigma, Lee joined Vaughan Azzurri, which eventually led to the start of his professional career.
