Team Alberta, featuring a large contingent of FC Edmonton REX Program players, scored two goals from free-kicks en route to a 3-0 win over Team BC to advance to the knockout rounds of the Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg, MB.
Among those set-piece goals included a rocket from REX midfielder Megan Duro, whose shot from just outside the top of the box couldn’t be stopped as it tucked in under the crossbar to seal the group win for Alberta against a strong BC side.
