Four Eddies highlight latest NASL Team of the Week

 

Week 2 of the Fall Season was packed with goals for FC Edmonton, putting three past the streaking Indy Eleven in the second half to secure the club’s first road win since a 4-2 victory over the New York Cosmos on June 7.

Abdoulaye Diakité and Albert Watson shined for the Eddies defensively while Ben Fisk and Dustin Corea did the damage moving forward for the Eddies this past Saturday at Michael A. Carroll Stadium in Indianapolis.

Abdoulaye Diakité (FC Edmonton) – He put in a crucial shift at the back, making 15 clearances and winning seven duels in his club’s 3-1 win over Indy Eleven. His defensive effort also netted him Player of the Week honors.

Albert Watson (FC Edmonton) – The center back scored in the Eddies’ win and also made 10 clearances and five interceptions.

Dustin Corea (FC Edmonton) – The Salvadoran international scored a pair of goals in the win over Indy Eleven.

Ben Fisk (FC Edmonton) – The Canadian international was active all game long, nearly scoring a goal of his own and creating five chances. He also earned an assist when his corner kick found the head of Albert Watson.
